Sen. Ted Cruz dines with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago (Image: Instagram)
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) spent the day at former President Donald Trump‘s Palm Beach golf club, Mar-A-Lago, on Tuesday .
“Had a great dinner tonight with President Trump at Mar-a-Lago,” Cruz wrote in his message. “He’s in great spirits! We spent the evening talking about working together to re-take the House & Senate in 2022.”
Cruz’s relationship with the former president has become increasingly cozy. In January 2021 during the Capitol insurrection, Cruz was one of the few senators to object to the certification of the electoral college results. Since then, Cruz also cosponsored a motion to remove the Major League Baseball associations antitrust protections as punishment for their choice to move the league’s All-Star game out of Georgia. The MLB moved the game’s venue as protest to the state’s new restrictive voting laws.
