Sen. Kelly Loeffler Refuses To Say President Trump Lost Election During Georgia Debate With Democratic Raphael Warnock

Sen. Kelly Loeffle(R-Georgia) repeatedly refused to acknowledge that President Donald Trump lost last month’s election in a debate Sunday night against her Democratic opponent for a U.S. Senate seat, Rev. Raphael Warnock.

During the debate, Loeffler was asked whether she believed that the Georgia election, in which President-elect Joe Biden won, was “rigged.” In the aftermath of his loss, Trump had spread baseless conspiracies about voter fraud and rigged machines following the election.

Loeffler responded that it was “very clear” that there were issues.

She also called for investigations to be completed quickly.

During the debate, she was pressed again about Trump’s baseless conspiracy theories following his loss.

Loeffler said that the process is “playing out” and that “we also have to make sure that Georgians know we have a process that works.”

Loeffler was then asked if she believed that Trump had lost, to which she said, “he has every right to use every legal recourse available.”

The Georgia Republican referred to her election as a last line of defense against the Democratic Party, a response which would suggest that she was conceding that Trump had lost since Vice President Kamala Harris would be casting deciding voting in the Senate in that event.

“What’s at stake is the Senate majority,” she said.

Loeffler directed attention to the GOP’s fight to retain control of the Senate since it lost the presidential race, and the House has remained Democratic-led.
