Sen. Chuck Schumer Calls For Capitol Rioters To Go On National ‘No-Fly’ List

In a press conference in Manhattan on Tuesday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-New York) announced that he is in talks with FBI Director Christopher Wray about adding those identified, and charged in connection with the riots in the U.S. Capitol building last Wednesday to be added to the TSA no-fly list.

Schumer said in his press conference that “we cannot allow these same insurrectionists to get on a plane and cause more violence and more damage. These individuals are a threat to the homeland as defined by the law.”

Schumer noted that any person deemed a threat “to the homeland” must be put on the no-fly list.

The senator’s call for action comes alongside growing number of high-profile arrests across the country of people who attended the riots in the Capitol building.

“The attack on our Capitol remains under active investigation, the situation has many concerned about the possibility of another attack or attacks and rightfully so … the threats to violence cannot be allowed to fly and neither can these individuals,” Schumer said.
