Bernie Sanders (I-VT) with his wife Jane Sanders and family addresses supporters during his caucus night watch party on February 03, 2020 in Des Moines, Iowa. Iowa is the first contest in the 2020 presidential nominating process with the candidates then moving on to New Hampshire
Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont) said on Wednesday that he’d stay in the race for president after losing to former Vice President Joe Biden in a series of contests Tuesday night.
“We are winning the generational debate,” he said. “While Joe Biden continues to do very well with older Americans, especially those people over 65, our campaign continues to win the vast majority of the votes of younger people.”

“Last night obviously was not a good night for our campaign from a delegate point of view,” Sanders said in response to his losses in Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi and Idaho. He then acknowledged his win in North Dakota. Despite being behind in the delegate count, he said his campaign is winning in areas that “will determine the future of this country.”
