Sanders Declared Winner Of California Primary With Hundreds Of Thousands Of Votes Yet To Count

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) won the California primary on Tuesday night, grabbing the majority of the state’s 415 delegates.

Although California, having the most delegates, is a huge win, there is no telling how many of those delegates will be divided between other candidates.

Because of the large number of mail in ballots, California will not have the final division of delegates for several days if not weeks. The state is infamous for its lag in officiating results.

Sanders is confident he will win the state, saying before the unofficial results were released, “Tonight, I tell you with absolute confidence, we are going to win the Democratic nomination, and we are going to defeat the most dangerous president in the history of this country.”

After Super Tuesday, Sanders is trailing behind former Vice President Joe Biden. Biden won Alabama, Arkansas, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Virginia, Minnesota, and Massachusetts  as well as Texas.
