Ruth Bader Ginsburg Says She’s Cancer Again

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is starting 2020 cancer-free, she announced Tuesday.

“I’m cancer-free. That’s good,” Ginsburg said during an interview with CNN. She was first diagnosed with colon cancer in 1999 and has since survived four rounds of treatment.

Despite a string of recent health problems, the 86-year-old has continued to serve on the court.

Last November she fell and broke three ribs, but went back to work by the end of the month. While looking at CT scans of her ribs, doctors discovered two malignant lesions and removed them. She was out for several weeks but returned before June.

In August, Ginsburg was treated for a tumor on her pancreas. She has been working since then.
