Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Arizona) has denied knowing anything about the fundraiser hosted by the white nationalist Super PAC, America First – despite his name being on the invitation. “I have no idea what’s going on,” Gosar said when asked about the invite. “That’s news to me. There’s no fundraiser scheduled on Friday.”

Still, Grosar defended the event on Twitter.

The event is supposed to be taking place on July 2, hosted by Nick Fuentes. Fuentes has been accused of being a Holocaust denier and has been attacked by both conservative and liberal figures for his controversial opinions. The event was announced on Telegram, a social media platform that has been described as “a conspiracy and white nationalist fantasy land” by a member of Congress.

This is the second recent occasion Gosar and Fuentes have been connected publicly. In February, Gosar was a speaker at the America First convention where Fuentes delivered a white nationalist-tinged speech.

Grosar has been an extremely controversial figure recently. He has circulated conspiracy theories about the January 6 insurrection, including spreading false claims that a pro-Trump rioter was intentionally shot by police “lying in wait.”

His brother, David Gosar, accused him of treason for his role in the January 6 riots. “What he’s done personally is commit treason, I think,” said David Gosar. “He has blood on his hands for those people dying in there.”
