A group has filed an ethics complaint against Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-North Carolina) alleging that the controversial politician has an inappropriate relationship with one of his staff members, Stephen Smith.

The group has footage of Smith touching Cawthorn’s crotch as the two spoke in sexual innuendos to each other. Cawthorn is further alleged to have provided Smith with free housing, travel and gifts which is against the House rules.

There is also footage of Smith placing his hand on Cawthorn’s crotch in Cawthorn’s car. The two are reported to live together further suggesting their relationship goes beyond the workplace.

Cawthorn’s spokesman Luke Ball said the two men are cousins. This complaint originally came after Sen. Thom Tillis (R-North Carolina) called on the House Ethics committee to investigate Cawthorn for engaging in insider trading.
