Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) attacked President Donald Trump on Twitter calling him “corrupt” and “inept” in response to racist remarks he had made towards her and other House lawmakers of color.
“Mr. President, As Members of Congress, the only country we swear an oath to is the United States. Which is why we are fighting to protect it from the worst, most corrupt and inept president we have ever seen.”
Her remarks come in response to tweets posted by the president on Sunday and Monday in which he called for Omar and other progressive Congresswomen to “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how it is done.” The four House freshmen who Trump is referring to are Omar, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York), Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Michigan), and Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Massachusetts).
