Rep. Adam Kinzinger Slams House Republicans Anti-Biden Tweet

On Tuesday, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IIIinois) denounced House Republicans’ tweet about President Joe Biden announcing the U.S. would be imposing sanctions on Russia, saying it’s “damn awful.”

Biden announced that sanctions were being imposed in response to Russia invasion of Ukraine. After this decision, House Republicans tweeted “this is what weakness on the world stage looks like” with a photo of Biden walking away.

Republicans argue that the Biden administration has not taken tough enough steps against Russia and Putin. Other Republicans say the steps are too strong.

Kinzinger disapproved of the tweet, saying it feeds into Russian President Vladimir Putin‘s false narrative.

Russia already has 190,000 troops stationed near Ukraine. Biden said Tuesday that “this is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine.”
