Reddit announced on Monday that it is deactivating a Trump supporters’ forum, due to harassment, hate speech and content manipulation.

The subreddit forum, called The_Donald, had nearly 800,000 users. Reddit posted a statement on Monday, saying that the forum “has consistently hosted and upvoted more rule-breaking content.”

“All communities on Reddit must abide by our content policy in good faith,” Reddit posted. “We banned r/The_Donald because it has not done so, despite every opportunity.”

The forum becomes one of the 2,000 Reddit pages that have been suspended after violating hate speech policies. Reddit has updated the rules for its content, introducing new measures to prevent harassment and respect personal privacy.

“Reddit is a place for creating community and belonging, not for attacking marginalized or vulnerable groups of people. Everyone has a right to use Reddit free of harassment, bullying, and threats of violence,” the company said, introducing new content rules on Monday.

Reddit is not the only platform to take a stance against Trump supporter content. Twitch, the video streaming platform popular among video game players, reported on Monday that it shut down Trump’s campaign channel for posting videos that violated rules against content that “promotes, encourages or facilitates discrimination, denigration, objectification, harassment or violence” based on an individual’s identity.

The MAGA channel violated its rules by reposting a video of Trump’s 2015 event, where Trump called Mexican immigrants “rapists.”

“Hateful conduct is considered a zero-tolerance violation,” said the Twitch spokesperson.
