President Donald Trump wants to bring disgraced former aide Rob Porter back to the White House.

According to The New York Times, Trump stayed in touch and has had an increased number of calls with Porter, who stepped down from his post after his two ex wives came forward to say that he had physically abused them.

An anonymous White House official told The New York Times that though he knows Porter cannot return to work for the White House, he misses the staff structure Porter had created. Trump spent much time with Porter when he was an aide.

After Porter stepped down, Trump took to Twitter to defend his former aide against the accusations, earning the President backlash.
