President Trump Suggests Huma Abedin Be Jailed Following E-mail Release
Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that Hillary Clinton‘s former aide Huma Abedin be jailed after the State Department’s release last week of classified emails found on her laptop.
DONALD TRUMP SUGGESTS HUMA ABEDIN BE JAILED
The emails were raided as part of the investigation against Abedin’s estranged husband Anthony Weiner, who is now serving jail time for sexting with a minor. “Crooked Hillary Clinton’s top aid [sic], Huma Abedin, has been accused of disregarding basic security protocols. She put Classified Passwords into the hands of foreign agents. Remember sailors [sic] pictures on submarine? Jail! Deep State Justice Dept must finally act? Also on Comey & others,” the president wrote on Twitter.

The emails were released last week in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought on by the conservative Judicial Watch. These were the same batch that were uncovered in the later weeks of the 2016 presidential election that many believe were Clinton’s downfall.
The FBI’s review of the emails discovered did not change the bureau’s assessment of Clinton’s e-mail system, and therefore did not result in criminal charges. The release, however, prompted Trump to reopen the conversation, and is now calling for his opponent’s aide’s jailing.
Trump has also lashed out at then-FBI director James Comey for the way he dealt with the Clinton email scandal. The president fired him last year over the FBI’s handling of the investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 elections.
