Donald Trump on Monday tweeted out that Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) was lying when he said that the president referred to Haiti and various African nations as “s—hole countries.”
Trump had already responded last week to the claims, denying that he used the word “s—hole” but did say that some “tough language” was used. “Senator Dicky Durbin totally misrepresented what was said at the DACA meeting. Deals can’t be made when there is no trust! Durbin blew DACA and is hurting out military,” Trump wrote.
“Dicky Durbin” is the latest nickname Trump is adding to his vernacular. During the 2016 presidential election, he often referred to “Crooked” Hillary Clinton, “Lyin'” Ted Cruz, “Little” Marco Rubio, and “Crazy” Bernie Sanders. Since then he’s added “Sneaky” Dianne Feinstein, “Liddle” Bob Corker, and “Wacky” Congresswoman Wilson to his repertoire.

After the DACA meeting, Durbin spoke on Friday, telling the media that Trump had used “hate-filled, vile and racist” language while discussing immigrants from Africa and Haiti. He was one of six lawmakers who proposed a bipartisan immigration plan, which offered Dreamers a path to citizenship while also giving funds to the president’s border wall.
On Sunday, Durbin responded to Trump’s words that the Democrats don’t actually want to make a difference with DACA. “Republicans and Democrats negotiated in good faith to reach a deal that gives you what you asked for in front of the country on Tuesday. It’s time to lead and support the bipartisan deal,” he said.
Durbin added another tweet on the subject on Tuesday, saying, “President Trump is demanding $20 billion for an unrealistic wall – that won’t make us safer – as a condition to give Dreamers a chance to be here in the U.S. legally. It’s an outrageous way to handle the fate of hundreds of thousands of young people.”
