White House faced questions this week over who would be America’s acting president if both President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence get coronavirus.
Under the U.S. Constitution, Nancy Pelosi (D-California), the speaker of the House of Representatives, assumes the presidential role if both the president and vice president are incapacitated.
White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said that the possibility of Pelosi assuming the office is not being considered.
“The president’s healthy. The vice president’s healthy. And I think that’s something all reporters should be celebrating, and the American people, as well,” McEnany said.

Trump was also in denial about the possibility of Pelosi assuming the presidency when he spoke to Fox Business on Wednesday.
“Never going to happen. We’ll keep our vice president very healthy, and I’ll stay healthy. Never going to happen,” he said.
Pelosi was a key figure in leading the Trump’s impeachment last December.
“Crazy Nancy would be a total disaster, and the USA will never be a Communist Country!” Trump wrote on Twitter this week.
