Vice President Mike Pence has indicated his opposition to the growing call to enact the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution which would immediately remove President Donald Trump from office due to incapacity.

A bipartisan group of senators, members of the House and governors have publicly called on Pence to remove Trump because of his involvement in Wednesday’s storming of the Capitol building by his supporters.

According to The New York Times, an undisclosed source close to the vice president said that Pence is fully opposed to enacting the amendment. Pence and his team have not officially commented yet, but senior Republicans believe that enacting the amendment would only add to the potential of more protests and unrest in the Capitol.
