Vice President Mike Pence said he should have worn a mask during his visit to the Mayo Clinic after growing criticism for not doing so.
Because of how often he’s tested for the virus, Pence said, “I didn’t think it was necessary but I should have worn the mask at the Mayo Clinic.”
This comes after the vice president faced criticism for not wearing one last week. The clinic had briefed Pence and his team of their policy before they arrived. Everyone but Pence complied with the clinic’s policy of wearing a mask.
Pence’s spokesperson Katie Miller had said that “we don’t feel it was a mistake” that he chose not to wear a mask.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that Americans use face coverings in public to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. President Donald Trump, however, said he would not comply.
“I don’t think I’m going to be doing it,” the President said. “Wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens — I just don’t see it.”
