On Friday, Vice President Mike Pence appeared at a Republican rally in Georgia to encourage President Donald Trump’s fight to find evidence of “voter fraud” in the election of Joe Biden.
“We are going to keep fighting until every legal vote is counted,” he continued. “We’re going to keep fighting until every illegal vote is thrown out. Whatever the future holds, we will never stop fighting to make America great again.”
Pence urged spectators to fight for “every legal vote,” and to discard “every illegal vote,” but avoided words like “rigged” or “stolen,” both of which are regularly used by Trump. Ever since his election in 2016, Pence has had a pattern of fully supporting the president’s opinions and views without using controversial language to do so.
“The Governor of Georgia, and Secretary of State, refuse to let us look at signatures which would expose hundreds of thousands of illegal ballots, and give the Republican Party and me, David Perdue, and perhaps Kelly Loeffler, a BIG VICTORY,” Trump wrote on Twitter on Friday, his language clearly with a different tone than Pence’s.

Pence was less focused on the alleged voter fraud that cost the Trump administration the election, and more focused on the upcoming runoff election for the Georgian Senate seats. Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are both incumbent candidates, but if they lose the election in January, the Democrats will have control over the Senate, something that the GOP is desperately afraid of.
Since Georgia voted Democrat in the presidential election, the GOP is focused on winning Republican votes for the Senate.
“Our America is American greatness. Their agenda is American decline,” Pence said of the Democratic Party. “We need Georgia to defend the majority… Stay in the fight, for the integrity of this election.”
