Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former Trump aide, has won an arbitration case brought against her by the Trump campaign. The campaign alleged that she violated a non-disclosure agreement with public comments and a book that was critical of former President Donald Trump.

In a summary judgment granted Monday in Manigault Newman’s favor, the arbiter rejected the Trump campaign’s claims saying the agreement was “overbroad, indefinite and unreasonable.” The case marks a rare instance of financial consequences in a legal fight picked by Trump against a foe – the campaign was ordered to pay all of Manigault Newman’s legal costs.

The judge ruled that if the agreement had been in force Manigault Newman would be required to “never say anything remotely critical of Mr. Trump, his family or his business for the rest of her life.” The judgment noted, “It was unreasonable.”
