Former President Barack Obama said that to make progress in resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, individuals must recognize the intricate nature of the situation.

Obama stated in an interview on the Pod Save America podcast that if people want to take constructive action, they must acknowledge that there are seemingly contradictory truths about the situation – one can condemn Hamas’ actions while also recognizing the unbearable circumstances the Palestinians face due to the occupation.

These remarks were made amid the Israeli military’s campaign against Hamas in Gaza City and the northern part of the region.

Obama condemned the conversation surrounding the issue on social media platforms such as TikTok, saying that individuals must acknowledge the entirety of the truth.
