New York Regulators Subpoena Trump Organization’s Insurance Company Aon After Reports Of Fraud

As part of an ongoing investigation into Donald Trump‘s businesses, New York regulators issued a subpoena to the Trump Organization‘s insurance company. Aon, a global insurance company situated in London, was the recipient of the subpoena.

Aon issued a statement to NBC, saying, “We can confirm that we received a subpoena from the New York State Department of Financial Services and, as is our policy, we intend to cooperate with all regulatory bodies. We do not comment on specific client matters.” The statement notably never mentions Trump’s conglomeration by name.

Cohen commented how Trump was never shy about inflating the worth of his assets when it behoved him to do so, mentioning he presented inflated assets to an insurance company as an example.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) responded by asking, “Who else knows that the president did this?” Cohen listed three names: Allen Weisselberg, Matthew Calamari and Ron Lieberman, all of whom are Trump Organization executives. State prosecutors previously granted Weisselberg limited immunity in exchange for giving information regarding the hush money payments Cohen made to women his former boss had affairs with. However, he is not known to have an ongoing cooperation agreement with New York prosecutors.
