According to lawyers for New York State Attorney General Letitia James‘ office, they are almost finished with their investigation into the Trump Organization, which they compared to being like a “Russian nesting doll” of corruption.
Trump’s golf course in Florida has been a major focus of the investigation. Staffers are examining its financial statement for accuracy.
Investigators are continuing to seek two cell phones that belonged to former President Donald Trump along with computers belonging to Trump’s executive assistant Rhona Graff.
The investigation has spanned three years, and lawyers have identified 151 individuals who may have documents to contribute to the investigation. Kevin Wallace, senior enforcement counsel at the New York State Attorney General’s Office, said they are focusing on the “most important outstanding pieces of information.”
