Mike Pence Cancels Plans To Attend Trump Fundraiser Hosted By QAnon Conspiracy Sympathizers

Vice President Mike Pence canceled plans to attend a Trump fundraiser in Montana after the hosts showed support for the QAnon conspiracy.

President Donald Trump‘s reelection campaign confirmed to the Associated Press on Saturday that Pence’s schedule was changed, but did not say why. However, the change came three days after it was reported the fundraiser’s hosts, Cayrn and Michael Borland, had retweeted QAnon posts.

Michael Borland featured several QAnon “Q” logos on his Facebook page, and his wife Caryn has retweeted and engaged with Twitter accounts that boost the conspiracy theory.

The Borlands have donated over $220,000 to Trump’s reelection bid and attended the Republican National Convention as guests last month.

The baseless theory centers on the belief a deep state is working to undermine Trump, and features other accusations including that prominent Democrats and A-list celebrities are running an international child sex trafficking ring.

QAnon has gained traction recently, with a few Republican candidates expressing support or sympathetic views towards the conspiracy.

Pence has previously dismissed QAnon, telling CBS:  “I don’t know anything about QAnon, and I dismiss it out of hand.”
