Mika Brzezinski Slams Ivanka Trump: “You’re Going To Have To Try And Act Like You Care “

On Friday, MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski criticized Ivanka Trump on Morning Joe, saying the daughter of President Donald Trump was nothing more than self-centered and self-serving. This critique came after Ivanka made her first public remarks about her father’s “zero tolerance” policy on Thursday during a sit-down with Axios.

When asked about her father’s policy, Ivanka said, “That was a low point for me as well. I feel very strongly about that, and I am very vehemently against family separation, and the separation of parents and children.”

Brzezinski’s first response to Ivanka’s comment was, “You can do better than that.” She continued, “That was Ivanka Trump yesterday acknowledging the impact of her father’s policy on herself. The policy that tore children from their parents at the U.S. border.”

Brzezinski lambasted the first daughter for acting like she was a helpless bystander who could do nothing to stop her father from separating undocumented immigrants. And even worse, she said, Ivanka only talked about how her father’s family separation policies affected her personally. “Ivanka has never talked about the topic, other than congratulating her father over Twitter after he stopped the policy that he created,” Brzezinski said.

“I just want to say that, because Ivanka Trump has her own political aspirations, you’re going to have to do this a little better,” Brzezinski continued. “You’re going to have to try and act like you care. You’re going to have to try and act like people are not merchandise products. You’re going to have to try and act like this matters to the fabric of what this country was created upon.”

Brzezinski claimed, “If you care, get yourself to the border and stay there until something really substantive is done . . . I don’t think it’s a low point for you. I think it’s a national disgrace.”

Guest of the show, Republican strategist Susan Del Percio, meanwhile, slammed Ivanka for pretending she has no influence over her own father’s policies. “This should be her agenda,” she said. “And to talk about things in the way of — ‘I was upset and it was my low point’ — stop it and do something!”
