Michael Cohen Reportedly Expects To Be Arrested Shortly

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, reportedly believes his arrest is imminent, potentially putting his top client in a complicated position.

Cohen has been telling friends that he fears he will be arrested any day now, according to the New York Daily News. Cohen is under federal investigation for possible bank fraud, wire fraud and campaign finance violations. His home, hotel room and office were raided by the FBI in April.

Out of the millions of documents seized in the raids, less than one percent are considered protected by attorney-client privilege.

A former White House official told Vanity Fair that the president is likely worried about what could happen if Cohen is arrested, saying that,“Trump should be super worried about Michael Cohen,” and “If anyone could blow up Trump, it’s him.”

SLIDESHOW: DONALD TRUMP’S 30 CRAZIEST TWEETS

Cohen, who has been nicknamed Trump’s “bulldog,” was first entangled in a sticky situation involving the president when it came out that he brokered a deal between Trump and adult film star Stormy Daniels to ensure her silence about an alleged affair. Daniels accepted $130,000 from Cohen in this agreement.

Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti, who has been hoping to intervene in Cohen’s case, told The News Tuesday that Cohen’s impending arrest confirms his predictions, as he had said last month that Cohen would be indicted within 90 days.

“It looks like once again I’m about to be proven right,” Avenatti said. “He’s going to be charged with a number of crimes.”
