Maryanne Trump Barry, Trump’s Elder Sister, Slams President In Secretly Recorded Conversations: ‘He Has No Principles. None!’

President Donald Trump‘s elder sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, in a secretly recorded audio, criticized her brother and claimed he had “no principles,” saying “you can’t trust him.” The audio was recorded by Donald Trump’s niece, Mary Trump.

Mary Trump, who has recently published a tell-all book about the president, recorded her conversations with Barry in 2018 and 2019. In the private conversations, Barry harshly criticized President Trump for his immigration policies and calling him out for his “lack of preparation” and “lying.”

In one exchange, Barry criticized Trump’s administration for what they were “doing with the kids at the border” and said he was wrong to suggest that he might send her there to help handle immigration cases.

“Well, I guess he hasn’t read my immigration opinions,” she said. When Mary asked her if Trump read, Barry responded: “No, he doesn’t read.”

In another exchange, Barry criticized Trump for his personal traits.

“Donald is out for Donald, period,” she said in one exchange. “All he wants to do is appeal to his base,” Barry said in another recording. “He has no principles. None. None.”

In one of the exchanges, Barry also attacked Trump’s use of Twitter and recalled asking him to “get rid of Twitter” and “stop this,” meaning his way of posting.

“His goddamned tweet and the lying, oh my God,” she said in another clip. “I’m talking too freely, but you know. The change of stories. The lack of preparation. The lying.”

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows dismissed the audio recordings as “another political attack,” criticizing Mary for taping the conversations.

“What I find interesting is any family member that would secretly tape 15 hours of a conversation with somebody, obviously, to promote an agenda,” said Meadows on Fox News. “She’s been very vocal in her support for Joe Biden. This is really a sad day.”

Meadows added that contrary to Barry’s claims, Trump “reads probably more than anybody I know” and “does more than any president that I’ve ever been able to have the privilege of researching and reading about in terms of wanting to make sure that we have advance critical agendas for the hardworking American people on Main Street.”

After the recordings were released, Trump responded to the reporting in a statement, shrugging it off.

“Every day it’s something else, who cares,” Trump said in a statement. “I miss my brother, and I’ll continue to work hard for the American people. Not everyone agrees, but the results are obvious. Our country will soon be stronger than ever before.”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California), said in an interview to CNN’s State of the Union that the recordings taped by Mary are “further evidence of his inauthenticity and lack of integrity.”

“It’s heartbreaking to think that a family member of the president of the United States would have that view of him,” Pelosi said.

Chris Bastardi, a spokesman for Mary Trump, said she recorded private conversations with her aunt because “members of her family had lied in prior depositions.”

“Anticipating litigation, she felt it prudent to tape conversations in order to protect herself. She never expected to learn much of what she heard,” Bastardi said in a statement.
