Half Of 12 Major Speakers At Republican National Convention Are Trumps

Half of 12 major speakers at the Republican National Convention are members of the Trump family.

The RNC event, starting on Monday through Thursday, will feature 12 main speakers, of whom six are Trumps – Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump are listed as “key” speakers for the RNC events.

Donald Trump will speak every night, ending with an acceptance speech on Thursday.

Among other speakers appearing at the RNC are Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Vice President Mike Pence, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Sen. Tim Scott (R-South Carolina).

The reported line up for the RNC has provoked a wave of criticism on social media, with people criticizing that so many “key” speakers featured are the Trumps.

Others also noted that Scott and Haley are the only two people of color on the main speakers line up. With the Trump campaign philosophy of promoting the image of the “great American story” and “American people,” many noted that the speakers do not represent the diversity that represents American people.

“Over four nights, President Trump’s 2020 Convention will honor the great American story, the American people that have written it, and how President Donald J. Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda has empowered them to succeed,” the campaign said in a statement announcing the list.
