Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a National Security Official, publicly testified in the impeachment hearings of President Donald Trump on Tuesday morning.
Vindman appeared before a House impeachment probe, which investigated the July 25 Trump-Zelensky phone call, which he had been listening in on to assist Trump.

“I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine,” Vindman said in response to Trump pressuring Ukraine to investigate the Biden’s.

Vindman has reached out to the U.S. Army about personal and familial safety concerns. The U.S. Army offered to move the entire Vindman family to a military base if security concerns require it. The U.S. military continues to monitor security threats against Vindman and his family.
At the hearing, Vindman said he told his father “Dad, [that] I’m sitting here today in the U.S. Capitol talking to our elected professionals is proof that you made the right decision 40 years ago to leave the Soviet Union and come here to the United States of America in search of a better life for our family. Do not worry. I will be fine for telling the truth.”
