Donald Trump Jr.‘s girlfriend and top fundraiser for former President Donald Trump, Kimberly Guilfoyle bragged about raising money for the rally which fueled the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection in a series of text messages sent on Jan. 4 to Katrina Pierson, the White House liaison to the event.

In the text messages, Guilfoyle describes her fundraising efforts and pushed to get far-right speakers to attend the event alongside Trump.

The texts seem to indicate that the Trump family circle was directly involved in the planning of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, which left five dead and countless injured.

The House committee investigating the events of Jan. 6 subpoenaed more than 30 Trump allies for testimony and documents. Guilfoyle has not yet been subpoenaed.

Joe Tacopina, Guilfoyle’s lawyer, denied his client had anything to do with fundraising for the event, claiming her texts “did not relate to the Save America rally” and the “content of the message itself” is “inaccurate” and “taken out of context.” Tacopina refused to give additional details about the actual context of the message.

Caroline Wren, one of the subpoenaed Trump allies, released the following statement with her attorney: “To Ms. Wren’s knowledge, Kimberly Guilfoyle had no involvement in raising funds for any events on January 6th. They were both present at a peaceful rally with hundreds of thousands of Americans who were in DC to lawfully exercise their first amendment rights, a primary pillar of American democracy.”
