Newly resigned Rep. Katie Hill (D-California)’s legislative director and alleged lover said over the weekend that he and his fellow staffers’ “lives are ruined” after the Democratic lawmaker’s scandal.
“[E]veryone i’ve worked with every day for the last two years lives are ruined and they’re already talking about the next race,” Graham Kelly tweeted Sunday evening from his private Twitter account. “What a town.”
Kelly wrote the tweet in response to a post from CNN Congressional Correspondent Manu Raju, who claimed California Secretary of State Alex Padilla was considering running for Hill’s now-vacated seat.

Allegations that 32-year-old Hill and Kelly were having an affair led to an investigation by the House Ethics Committee. Hill adamantly denied Kelly was her lover.

Hill was forced to resign amid a nude photo hacking scandal that also included claims of inappropriate sexual relations with multiple staffers. British tabloid the Daily Mail published the damning photos of Hill, a female campaign staffer and her husband Kenny Heslep and called the trio a “throuple.” The California Democrat, who confessed to this relationship, responded by saying she felt she was a victim of “revenge porn.”
