Former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake said that she believes she is the only candidate who could win the 2024 Arizona Senate race. Lake has yet to announce her candidacy, though it is speculated that she will do so in the fall.

“I’ve looked at the polling, to be honest, and I believe I’m the only one who could win that race,” Lake said at the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa.

Lake’s Senate bid has been a topic of discussion since her loss to Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-Arizona) last November. Following the election, Lake launched a lawsuit contesting Hobbs’ victory.

Lake was fined more than $120,000 last week after a federal court ruled that the lawsuit was “frivolous.”

The former gubernatorial candidate has remained a loyal supporter of Donald Trump and is reportedly being considered as his running mate, should he win the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election.

“We have an opportunity to pick up a very important seat so that when President Trump gets back into office, he can have people in D.C. ready to back him up with this incredible agenda,” Lake said on Friday.

Though a poll released in April showed Lake’s large lead over other potential GOP senatorial candidates, some Republicans have expressed concerns about her past claims of voter fraud.

In the likely event that she chooses to run, Lake will be vying for Sen. Kyrsten Sinema’s (I-Arizona) Senate seat. Sinema has not yet announced if she will be running for a second term.
