Joe Biden Attacks Elizabeth Warren As ‘Condescending’ & An ‘Elitist’

The former Vice President Joe Biden has attacked Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) as an “elitist.” The two top contenders for the Democratic presidential nomination now are lashing out against each other in a no-holds barred contest in the Democratic primaries.

Biden views Warren as incapable of winning the white working class voters that tilted the 2016 elections in favor of President Donald Trump. Biden said Warren’s attitude is, “We know best; you know nothing. If only you were as smart as I am you would agree with me,” in a Medium post last week

Biden asserted that Warren’s attitude is worse than the “my way or the highway” approach to politics. He said her views are, “condescending to the millions of Democrats who have a different view.”

Biden has been on the defensive as he has lost ground to Warren in early state polls. He has been painting Warren as too radical for the Democratic Party.

Biden has been a detractor of Warren’s Medicare For All healthcare plan as impractical. He wants to strengthen Obamacare, the high watermark of the country’s stewardship by former President Barack Obama.

Both Biden and Warren have taken credit for legislative victories. Warren said she was responsible for creating the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau after the 2008 financial crisis. Biden took credit for getting it passed through the Senate when he was vice president.

Warren had accused Biden of being an apologist for the actions of the chief executives of multinationals. She accused Biden of not confronting insurance and drug companies for making colossal profits.

Biden’s campaign’s expenditures have exceeded its donations this year. Biden has also softened his stance towards super PACs to support his candidacy unlike the other Democratic presidential primary candidates. Biden has relied on private fundraisers to raise money for his campaign. Warren has relied on thousands of small donors. Warren has raised more than $25 million while Biden has raised $10 million less.
