After her now-deleted tweet calling the rioters who stormed the Capitol last Wednesday “American Patriots,” Ivanka Trump has been under increased scrutiny about her political future.

Trump’s eldest daughter, however, still sees a route to the presidency for herself and husband Jared Kushner. In the book Fire and Fury detailing an insider view of the Trump White House, writer Michael Wolff explained that Ivanka “decided to accept roles in the West Wing over the advice of almost everyone they knew … If sometime in the future the opportunity arose, she’d be the one to run for president.”

Trump and Kushner have recently rented a Miami condo while they build a house in the exclusive Indian Creek area of the city. This had led to speculation that she may seek to challenge Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) in the 2022 GOP primary. Others think that’s aiming too low and that Ivanka will seek the Republican presidential nomination if her father doesn’t run again – though she may have to challenge her brother Donald Trump, Jr., who is also widely seen as having presidential aspirations.
