Hunter Biden Resigns From Board Of Chinese Company After Trump Attacks

Hunter Biden, the son of former Vice-President Joe Biden, said he would resign from the management board of a Chinese public sector company at the end of this month. He further stated that he would not serve on the board of any foreign company if his father became president next year. In April, he resigned from the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma.

Biden’s attorney George Mesires announced this news after the former vice-president and his son have been attacked for months by President Donald Trump.

Trump says the former vice-president used his office in 2016 during Barack Obama’s presidency to pressure Ukraine’s former President Petro Poroshenko to fire the 2016 Ukrainian prosecutor general Viktor Shokin. Trump claims the former vice president compelled former Ukrainian president to unfairly sack Shokin.

Trump said Shokin was investigating the shady dealings of the Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma, on whose management board Hunter Biden sat.

There is no evidence of any wrongdoing by the former vice president or his son. The Obama administration, U.S. allies, IMF and Ukrainian anti-corruption activists all supported the firing of Shokin, whom they viewed as corrupt.
