Hillary Clinton Still Considering 2020 Presidential Run, Top Democrats Urge Her Not To

Hillary Clinton has been non-committal on running for the presidency in 2020. Her ambiguous answers have kept everyone in a state of suspense. Clinton is unsure about taking the plunge and diving headlong into the Democratic primaries.  Most of her aides, friends and confidantes have told her to not to reenter politics and instead have advised her to move forward with her life.

The former secretary of state has co-written a book, The Book Of Gutsy Women: Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience’ with her daughter, Chelsea Clinton. The mother and daughter are currently on a book tour. Clinton has candidly answered questions on talk shows. She has trashed President Donald Trump on Twitter. She disparaged Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D- Hawaii) and the former Green Party nominee Jill Stein as “Russian assets.”

Several Democratic senators told Clinton point blank not to compete in the 2020 elections. The Democratic caucus that rallied unanimously behind her in 2016 was deeply disappointed when she lost to Trump. They think her chances of beating Trump in next year’s elections are very low.  They think she will commit a blunder by participating in the elections. They feel that the Democrats have a decent chance to win the White House next year unless she enters the race.

Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) said of former secretary of state, “She’s done a great service to our country and public service, and I supported her wholeheartedly, but I believe it’s time for another nominee.”
