Hillary Clinton Predicts Donald Trump Will “Wholesale Fire People” After Midterms

Hillary Clinton has maintained a fairly low profile after the 2016 presidential election concluded, but her interest in politics and world affairs has never wavered. Speaking with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Tuesday, Clinton made a bold prediction regarding how she foresees Donald Trump handling his administration after midterms.

CLINTON PREDICTS TRUMP WILL FIRE MUCH OF HIS STAFF

Trump and his staff frequently seem to have a contentious relationship with each other, with Attorney General Jeff Sessions currently sitting in his boss’s crosshairs. Trump’s hostile work environment is often an open book, likely informing Clinton’s prediction that her former rival will fire much of his staff after the 2018 midterms conclude.

Clinton expressed her concern that Trump will “wholesale fire people,” morbidly adding, “And if we [Democrats] don’t have one or both houses of Congress in place, he will be even more uncontrollable and unaccountable. He will fire people in the White House, he will fire people in this administration who he thinks are crossing him, questioning him, undermining him.”

Clinton also cited the recent “horrifying” anonymous article from The New York Times, which was written by an alleged “senior official in the Trump administration.” Considering how the article spoke of a “resistance” within Trump’s team that works to mitigate the damage he can cause, Clinton thinks Trump might elect to fire anyone he believes is against him. On Sept. 14, 2017, Clinton predicted that Trump’s staff would need to be “our first line of defense against him doing something that could have serious repercussions.”

“At some point the American public has to say, number one, I may disagree with Democrats, I may disagree with the direction of this administration,” Clinton expressed. “But one thing I believe in is we have to have checks and balances — that’s why we have to vote for Democrats in November.”
