Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton mocked her rival President Donald Trump’s letter to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by tweeting a fake letter from former President John F. Kennedy to former Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev.
In Clinton’s made-up letter, Kennedy used colloquial language to persuade Khrushchev to move missiles away from Cuba. This spurious letter starts with, “Don’t be a dick, ok? Get your missiles out of Cuba.” and ends with “Give you a jingle later.”
This bogus letter was a joke meant to ridicule Trump’s infamous letter to Erdogan on October 9. In the October 9 letter, Trump threatened to decimate the Turkish economy if Erdogan attacked the Kurds while invading Syria. The Turkish invasion of Syria began immediately after the U.S. withdrew its troops on Trump’s orders.

Trump told Erdogan, in his letter, not to “be a tough guy,” and not to “be a fool.” This letter was lampooned for its childish tone and unsophisticated language. Erdogan “rejected” Trump’s letter and threw it to the waste paper basket.
