Sen Ben Sasse (R-Nebraska) continued his criticism on President Donald Trump‘s recent executive orders in a tweet on Monday, saying that Trump shouldn’t be exercising “unilateral power” on policy decisions.

“No president – whether named Obama or Trump or Biden or AOC – has unilateral power to rewrite immigration law or to cut taxes or to raise taxes,” Sasse said. “This is because America doesn’t have kings.”

Sasse’s criticism came from recent executive orders that Trump signed in response to partisan deadlock over new COVID-19 relief bill over unemployment benefits.

Earlier this month, Trump criticized Sasse on Twitter for not standing by his side, said he is now “into the hands of the radical left.”

“RINO Ben Sasse, who needed my support and endorsement in order to get the Republican nomination for Senate from the GREAT State of Nebraska, has, now that he’s got it (Thank you President T), gone rogue, again. This foolishness plays right into the hands of the Radical Left Dems!

Sasse has been emerging as a new GOP critic. Last month, Sasse also released a statement criticizing Trump.

“The swamp should stop pretending there’s some thoughtful negotiation happening here. We have two big government Democrats – Secretary Mnuchin on behalf of the Trump administration and Speaker Pelosi on behalf of binge-spending politicians everywhere – playing gross games with your kids’ money,” Sasse said. “The White House is trying to solve bad polling by agreeing to indefensibly bad debt. This proposal is not targeted to fix precise problems – it’s about Democrats and Trumpers competing to outspend each other.”
