South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace (R) predicted that the Congressional Republicans will likely try to impeach President Joe Biden if the party wins back the majority after the November midterm elections.

“I believe there’s a lot of pressure on Republicans to have that vote, to put that legislation forward, and to have that vote,” Mace, speaking of an impeachment vote, told NBC’s Chuck Todd.

Mace, who voted to certify Biden’s 2020 election win, refused to indicate which side her vote would fall on should a Biden impeachment vote be held but did refer back to her decision not to vote for the impeachment of former President Donald Trump in 2021.

“I will not vote for impeachment of any president if I feel that due process has been stripped away for anyone, and I typically vote constitutionally regardless of who’s in power,” the Congresswoman said.

Trump ended up being impeached by the House a second time for alleged incitement of the January 6, 2021, Capitol riots. He was acquitted by the Senate in both cases.

Some House Republicans, like House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-California), have indicated plans to investigate those who have come out against Trump.

Mace also declined to say if she would avoid voting for Trump if he decided to run in 2024.

“I’m going to support whomever Republicans nominate in ’24,” she said.
