GOP Rep. Clay Higgins Suggests Church-Run Libraries Funded By Taxpayers
Rep. Clay Higgins (R-Louisiana) tweeted support for a new style of public libraries – run by churches instead of librarians. The representative, elected in Louisiana’s third district, said that he would work to secure funding for the projects.
“Over time, American communities will build beautiful, church-owned public-access libraries,” Higgins tweeted. “I’m going to help these churches get funding. We will change the whole public library paradigm.”
“The libraries regular Americans recall are gone. They’ve become liberal grooming centers.”

The far-right representative continues to advance his commentary on “woke” politics – a term he seemingly means as progressive social policy. He slammed President Joe Biden‘s administration in early March for overspending, calling for “significant fiscal reforms.”
“Government spending is out of control. From woke agendas to burdensome regulations, the Biden Administration continues to fight against the American people,” Higgins said in a statement. “We can no longer afford to continue spending at uncontrollable rates. We have to cut wasteful spending and decrease the size of the government. We must shrink Washington and grow America.”
