GOP Arizona Governor Nominee Kari Lake Refuses To Say If She’d Accept Defeat In Election

Arizona Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake refused to answer whether she would accept the election results if she loses in November.

Lake, a close ally of former President Donald Trump, appeared on CNN’s State of the Union on Sunday and repeated that she would win the election when asked if she would accept a defeat.

“I’m going to win the election and I will accept that result,” she said.

CNN’s Dana Rash asked a follow-up question, specifically about whether she would accept the election result if she lost.

“I’m going to win the election and I will accept that result,” she repeated.

During the interview, the candidate repeated false claims that the 2020 presidential election results were rigged. When asked to provided evidence to back her claims, she was unable to do so.

Earlier this month, Lake has said the would not have certified the election results in the state. Arizona was one of the voting battlegrounds in 2020, and President Joe Biden won in the state by just over 10,000 votes.

Lake faces her Democratic opponent Katie Hobbs in a tight race, according to recent polls.
