Allies of former New York City Mayor and personal lawyer to Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, have called on the former president to help pay his massive legal fees. Trump has not decided whether or not to pay Giuliani’s expenses.
Giuliani’s own lawyer, Robert Costello, raised the issue of the former mayor’s mounting legal fees. When asked if Trump was receptive to funding Giuliani, Costello said “no comment” to CNN.
Giuliani’s son Andrew Giuliani, who recently hinted at a campaign for New York governor, said in an interview Wednesday, “Once President Trump actually understands that his lead counsel was not indemnified, he’s going to resolve this very quickly … The legal costs with him fighting to retain his law license in New York and fighting the Southern District [of New York] on what I think are bogus charges, that should be indemnified.”
The younger Giuliani is referencing the investigation against his father that he illegally lobbied on behalf of Ukrainian interests in the Trump White House. Giuliani’s Upper East Side apartment was raided by federal authorities last week on a search warrant. Federal investigators execute the search warrant on Giuliani’s apartment in connection with the probe.

Andrew Giuliani claims that his father was not properly paid when he traveled to several states to represent the former president in his several voter fraud allegations after 2020 presidential election. Andrew alleges that while his father was reimbursed for travel, including an infamous trip to a south Philadelphia garage called The Four Seasons, mistaken for the same-name luxury hotel, but that the elder Giuliani was never paid for his legal services.
Both Trump and lawyers representing the former president have been unwilling to comment on Giuliani’s situation.
