Shortly after California’s 55 electors officially pushed President-elect Joe Biden over 270 electoral votes, a federal judge rejected a suit filed by President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn Michigan election results on Tuesday.

Conservative attorney Sidney Powell was eviscerated Tuesday by a U.S. District Court judge after challenging the election results from the 2020 presidential election battleground state of Michigan.

Powell’s efforts were described as “undemocratic,” and U.S. District Judge Linda Parker tossed out Powell’s lawsuit, which had alleged that widespread voter fraud in Michigan helped Biden win the state.

“In fact, this lawsuit seems to be less about achieving the relief Plaintiffs seek — as much of that relief is beyond the power of this Court — and more about the impact of their allegations on People’s faith in the democratic process and their trust in our government,” Parker ruled.

Parker’s scathing 35-page opinion was released shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday. It found the legal argument of the Trump supporters defective for several reasons. It said that the suit was moot because Michigan had already officially certified Biden’s win with the state’s 16 Electoral College votes.

She also found that the plaintiffs lacked standing to bring the suit and that they also brought it too late to be heard.

Powell had requested a motion for reversing election results, disenfranchising millions of voters and declaring Trump the winner.

Parker wrote, “With nothing but speculation and conjecture that votes for President Trump were destroyed, discarded or switched to votes for Vice President Biden, Plaintiffs’ equal protection claim fails.”

Parker added, in her ruling, that even if the claims had merit that “alleged injury does not entitle them to seek their requested remedy because the harm of having one’s vote invalidated or diluted is not remedied by denying millions of others their right to vote.”
