FBI Said Former Trump Campaign Adviser Carter Page “Collaborated & Conspired” With Russia In FISA Warrant

The Trump administration has released top-secret documents related to the surveillance warrant of former campaign adviser of President Donald Trump, Carter Page, whether he colluded with Russia to undermine the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

The warrant, which was approved for Page in 2016, allowed the FBI to conduct surveillance on him. It states that the FBI “believes Page has been the subject of targeted recruitment by the Russian government . . . The FBI believes that Page has been collaborating and conspiring with the Russian government,” the application stated, adding that “there is probable cause that such activities involve or are about to involve violations of the criminal statutes of the United States.”

Page has constantly denied working as an agent of the Kremlin. In an interview with CNN Sunday, he described the FBI’s application to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance (FISA) court as “so ridiculous, it’s beyond words… I’ve never been an agent of a foreign power by any stretch of the imagination.”

Page lived in Moscow between 2004 and 2007 and according to the released documents Page met a number of senior allies to President Vladimir Putin during a July 2016 trip to Russia. Allegedly Page met an Russian energy executive, Igor Sechin, to discuss Western sanctions. He also met a Russian intelligence operative, Igor Divyekin, to discuss compromising material on Hillary Clinton. In the interview with CNN, Page said that he had never met with Sechin or Divyekin.

Trump repeatedly denies any collusion with Russia. On Sunday, he accused his own government of serious malpractice, tweeting the Department of Justice and FBI “misled the courts” and denouncing Clinton again.
