Donald Trump Says North Korea Has ‘Great Beaches’ For Condos

Following the historic meeting between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Trump couldn’t help but return to his real estate roots in a press conference and muse about building condos on North Korean beaches.

The real estate mogul turned POTUS took notice of the untapped opportunities North Korea could provide, perhaps inspired by his own urging for the country to open itself to foreign trade during the summit.

“North Korea has great beaches,” Trump told reporters at the press conference. “You see that whenever they’re exploding cannons into the ocean. I said, ‘Boy, look at that view. Wouldn’t that make a great condo?’” He added that he advised Kim to abandon his nuclear ambitions to instead build “the best hotels in the world” along the coastline to boost the economy.

During their meeting, Trump showed Kim a video on an iPad he had commissioned highlighting possible economic projects that could occur should North Korea denuclearize. The president said in his press conference that he felt confident the “very talented” Kim would follow through on his promise to denuclearize and that the North Korean leader seemed interested in the options presented to him.

The meeting was criticized by some despite Trump’s confidence in his ability to make Kim follow through on his promises. The document the two leaders signed was sparse on details on holding North Korea accountable for denuclearizing and did not set a clear plan for how it should happen.
