On Wednesday, Donald Trump Jr. told a crowd of thousands gathered in Washington, D.C. that their presence at a rally in support of President Donald Trump should serve as a warning to congressional Republicans that they have lost their power. “We are coming for you,” Trump Jr. promised.

At a “Stop the Steal” rally on the National Mall, Trump Jr. stated that “it should be a message to all the Republicans who have not been willing to actually fight the people who did nothing to stop the steal.”

“This gathering should send a message to them: This isn’t their Republican Party anymore. This is Donald Trump’s Republican Party. This is the Republican party that will put America first,” he continued.

Since Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 election in November, Trump and his allies have claimed that the election results were fraudulent without any evidence, causing a series of legal challenges across the country, which all have been rejected by judges.

Trump pressured Vice President Mike Pence to “do the right thing” and “come through” for him on Wednesday when Congress confirmed Biden’s victory.

The loss of GOP Sen. Kelly Loeffler in one of Georgia’s runoff elections on Tuesday also angered Republicans. Rev. Raphael Warnock defeated her, making the Democrats one step closer to controlling the Senate.

Legal experts have said that Trump Jr. could face criminal charges for inciting a riot.
