Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle are seeking to gain influence within the Republican National Committee.

CNN reported this week that President Donald Trump‘s eldest son and his girlfriend, previously a Fox News host and former wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D), are unhappy with the RNC’s chairwoman Ronna McDaniel. While the president’s inner circle has largely echoed his baseless rhetoric about the media-projected election results showing him losing being inaccurate, Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle reportedly believe the RNC did not do enough to ensure an easy Trump victory.

“Don Jr. and Kimberly have an eye on the RNC, through themselves taking over or somebody close to them taking over,” a GOP source told CNN.

While Trump Jr. did not respond for comment, his associate, Andrew Surabian, told CNN that it’s “100% incorrect” that he is seeking a role at the RNC.

The RNC leadership is likely to be shaken up soon, however, given the outcome of the election. Other names that have been floated as possible contenders include former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and Ohio Republican Party chairwoman Jane Timken.
