Donald Trump Defends Charlottesville Comments, Calls Robert E. Lee “A Great General” [VIDEO]

Donald Trump called Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee “a great General,” on Friday while defending the comments he made after the 2017 Charlottesville riots, stating their was “very fine people on both sides” of the riots that included self-identified White Nationalist and Neo Nazis.

Trump was prompted to speak to White House reporters Friday about his comments on the Charlottesville riots after former Vice President Joe Biden stated in his first campaign video that Trump’s words “assigned a moral equivalence between those spreading hate and those standing against it.”

Many were injured at the “Unite The Right” rally protesting city plans to take down a monument of the Confederacy’s most prominent general. One woman, Heather Heyer, was killed by a member of a white supremacist group who hit her with his car.
