The hosts of President Donald Trump’s favorite show, Fox & Friends, repeatedly tried cutting him off at the end of a telephone interview yesterday morning.
During the 30-minute interview, Trump ranted about a number of issues, from the question of his campaign’s collusion with Russia during the 2016 election to the Justice Department. He often shouted about issues for minutes at a time, and hosts Steve Doocy, Ashley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade were barely able to get a word in edgewise.
Trump called the Justice Department’s operations a disgrace, but Doocy interrupted him.
“It’s your justice department. Mr. President,” Doocy said. “You’re the Republican in charge — you’ve got a Republican running it.”

Trump then said that he didn’t want to be too involved with the Justice Department — which is not an unusual decision by a U.S. President — because of the “witch hunt” against him.
Fox & Friends hosts later spoke with Trump about rapper Kanye West’s support of him, but they later returned to the topic of the Justice Department. Trump again began yelling about what the Justice Department should be looking into instead of the Russia collusion issue when Kilmeade cut him off.
“We are running out of time. We could talk to you all day, but it looks like you have a million things to do,” Kilmeade said as Trump continued to try and speak over him.
Some media analysts such as MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell and the political site Raw Story have speculated that Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch himself ordered Trump off the air for his own good. Murdoch is known to be a close friend of the president’s and speaks to him nearly every day.
