Efforts to search for survivors continued around the site of the Miami condo building collapse on Tuesday, the sixth day since the tragic incident.

Miami Condo Building Collapse Death Toll

The death toll has risen to 11, Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava announced Tuesday.

“We were able to recover four additional bodies in the rubble as well as additional human remains,” the mayor said in the Sunday press briefing.

DNA samples from the families of missing people are being gathered to identify human remains that were found at the site. As of now, 156 people are still missing.

Cranes have been lifting large pieces of debris at the site in order to find the missing people.

“We have six to eight squads that are on the pile actively searching at any given time,” Levine Cava said.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Florida) said the debris from the site will be taken to a warehouse to perform a forensic investigation to find the cause of the collapse.
